Never underestimate the capabilities of your students. With some direction and encouragement, they will blow you away!
What advice do you have for new advisors and professionals as they step into their busy fall semester?
Setting boundaries early with student groups is important. You definitely want to be there for them and support them as much as you can, but you also don’t have to brainstorm next semester’s concert series at 9:00pm on a Saturday.
What advice do you have for new student programmers who are stepping into their roles in the fall for the first time?
Congrats! Crowd source from your student body and identify where programming gaps are happening. Serve your student body while maintaining your organization & institution’s values.
What advice do you have for our experienced student leaders that are coming back for the fall in more senior leadership roles and have experience programming events/ leading their peers?
Share your experience! You are the expert and can teach your peers how to be excellent in their roles. Take initiative and lead from the heart.
After months of planning, it’s finally event and show day! What’s your one absolute most important show tip to share with our readers?
Day of roles need to be clearly defined within your team. Make sure everyone knows what their responsibility is day of and is equipped to execute at the highest level.
