3 Tips for Choosing an Artist

  1. Artist(s) selection should be student focused based on their opinions, needs, and the culture of the campus community. Try not to focus on your own tastes as an advisor. When students have a voice at the table, they are more likely to help promote, attend, and enjoy the event.
  2. Make sure you communicate details when reviewing and signing off on the band contract and rider with the stake holders at your institution. It is important to include them in conversations every step of the way when you have a contract to go over. Collaboration is key for a successful event.
  3. Always have a backup plan while remembering the show must go on. When an artist does not work out or there is a 100% chance of rain, it is important to remember to be flexible and to keep moving. Whether it is other administrators at your institution, your production company, or Babco Entertainment, you will always have others in your corner to help put on the best event you can!
