Capella Gray is a rising artist out of New York who took Summer 2021 to a new sound.
Capella’s song “Gyalis,” samples throwback artist Juvenile’s “Back That A** Up,* as a slowed version mixed with his own West-Indian style. The song reached two million views in t wo weeks on YouTube. The song just started trending – there was no one thing that set it off like a TikTok trend, or celeb boost, it just was a hit and that speaks for the music.
Capella is a rounded artist as he plays instruments and makes beats. He began playing with music as a youngster in church, and wanted to experiment with his own, teaching himself. Capella intends to be different and you can hear it in his music. The song (Gyalis) does not have a hook or bridge, like the traditional structure of any song. Gyalis is intended to be a bunch of different moments, and people are loving it.
